Dr. Tyese Parnell

After serving as a Systems Analyst at Ford Motor Company for several years, Tyese Parnell transitioned into education and joined the Denby High School staff in 2001 serving as a classroom math teacher for 12 years.  During her tenure at Denby High School, she served many roles, such as, SIS Coordinator, an Instructional Coach, coached multiple sports, and as the Assistant Principal for the past 7 years. 

Dr. Parnell is a proud graduate of Langston University where she earned her BS with a dual major in Mathematics and Computer Science.  She holds an MA in Teaching from Wayne State University and her MBA from the University of Phoenix.  She received her Administrative Certificate from the Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals. She completed her Ph.D. in Education (Educational Technology) from Walden University in the summer of 2020.

Dr. Parnell has been married to D’Andrea Parnell since 2001.  They are proud parents to D’Andrea and Dakota Parnell.  D’Andrea is an 11th  grader who plays competitive baseball and Dakota is an 8th  grader who plays competitive softball and volleyball. Outside of work, Dr. Parnell enjoys cooking and spending time with her family & friends.
